Dear participants,dear travelers of the Joyful Bus,

Let’s pack our things and head to the road again…but before final packing, let us tell you the last details concerning the trip.
We will leave on Wednesday -10 September, 20.00 from Horoscop Hotel (Unirea Square).
On Thursday we will have some time for seaside and relaxation.
On Friday: Olympus climbing
Saturday: for the one who want that – optional trip to Syatos Island (the offer will be presented on the bus)
Sunday: coming back to Bucharest (Horoscop Hotel).
It is possible that the return hour to be very late. Please take this into account for your plans!
Compulsory Equipment: identity card, boots, waterproof jacket, backpack, swimming suit.

Oxigen was conquered by Tatra Mountains!

Until now we were used to proudly say that we have conquered a new peak, but this time we can say that we were conquered by them – Oxigen Association was conquered by the beauty of Tatra Mountains!

The experience of this weekend was a one to remember, starting with Spissku Castle – one the biggest from Europe and ending with Rysy Peak – the highest from Poland – 2499 m.

They haven’t passed unobserved the small details like the Tatra Tea, the cold unstoppable rain, the well marked trails, the fast waterfalls, the shape of the rocks, the entire nature.

The trek was a big challenge and a competition – Who will be the last with wet feet? – we’ve crossed a small river thousand times, we’ve jumped from one rock to another, hold on chains, climbed and we reached the top – surrounded by fog and friends. It feels so good to have the beloved ones next to you, the rest doesn’t matter! And in the end we received our reward – the warm sun!

In the evening we have visited also the cemetery – the place where the Slovaks put marks for the best climbers who died on the mountains paths. We felt a nice feeling, like gratitude for these people.

On Sunday we embarked on the Hapiness Coach and we left towards the Ice Cave from Slovakia, a snow white palace where we passsed near translucent walls and hidden rocks.

In the morning we arrived in Bucharest – tired but with a great joy in our souls! We were conquered and it is so nice!

Expedition Olympus Mountain (Mytikas 2,919 m) – Greece

OXYGEN Association invites you to a new initiated trip what will have the main destination old „city” of the gods – Olympus Mountain where we will reach the highest peak of Greece, Mytikas (2,919 m).

Olympus Mountain

Etymological origin of the name is full of light, being analogous to sky inhabited by gods, old demigods, children of gods and their servants. In ancient times Olympus was Gods sanctuarz of ancient Greek pantheon.

Olympus is one of the most senior mountains of Europe from the point of topometry view (relative difference between tip and dis- appeared) because mountain base is located at sea level. It is famous for the great variety of plants, with more than one endemic species (which lives only on a specified territory). Flora, fauna and geological features special elevate, have led UNESCO to declare this region biological reserve.

Any climb on Mount Olympus begins from Litochoro city, also called „City Gods”.

Program

!!! The time intervals listed are the best to be able to make the ascent to the peak.

Guides rate expedition will impose reverse times required compliance with previously mentioned.

At time 1:15 PM will begin descenting along the same path regardless if the tip has been reached or not by the participants at the expedition.

At this expedition can participate the people that reach 18 years old, and they are able in terms of medical compliance to respect presented program. Participants must comply with the program and guidelines organizers throughout expedition.

Expedition Peru – South America 2013

Oxygen Association continue promoting eco-friendly spirit by organizing an expedition in South America – Peru, made up of 11 members, starring as the leader in Mr. David Neacsu, romanian climber, international renown, elder of the first Romanian consignments on Everest, in 2003.

Description expedition and objectives:

This expedition proposes the discovery incas old traditions by performing a route approximately 65 km in Anzii Cordilieri found on the west coast of South America.

Shape and vegetation encountered in this route are of a great diversity: from desert to forest clouds, from tropical jungle to alpine vegetation of high altitude by performing a two passers-by high altitude: „Pasul Incachuana (4950m)” and „Pasul Salkantay (4600m)”, in the vicinity Nevado Salkantay peak (6271 m). Completion of this course provides an opportunity to observe this natural ecosystem, seriously affected because of climate change. The massive is currently host of over 30 species of tropical birds and over 420 species of wild orchids.

They are also be able to notice the two large glaciers in the area; Humantay and Salkantay Glacier, whose rate of melting of known a rapid increase in the past few years.

End point of the trace can be found at 130 kilometers from Cuzco, among Andean escarpment, from the ruins of Incas Sacred City, Machu Picchu.

In this expedition members of the association are proposing to discover some of the most beautiful and baffling cultural lands in the world.

Entire team will focus energy in the direction of achieving a comprehensive trip log that will include a photo-documentary about peruan people life – people, tradition and culture. In addition to this primary purpose, there will be pursued tourist objectives and shooting landscapes what surrounding them. The log will be made up of recorded/photo frames  and experiences reported by team members (Text/audio) or local population.

ITINERARY

EXPEDITION PERU – South America

September 26 – October 18 2013

Day 1 -5: Flight Bucharest – Lima – Cuzco (Center of Inca)

Inca city Cuzco, established in the XIst century , located in Anzi mountains at an altitude of 3310 m is declared present UNESCO heritage. Among the most notable buildings in the city include the cathedral Santo Domingo and debris from certifying incas existence in those territories, such as Sun Temple.

Program of test acclimation period, visiting Cuzco city and Sacred Valley, the surroundings and the incas vestiges.

Day 6-12: Salkantay route mountain 4,950 m, Machu Picchu, Huayna Picchu

It will go through together with local guides a mountain route in the vicinity Nevado Salkantay peak (6,271 m) to reach the end of the 6 days to the incas sites Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu, sacred places and full of mystery. In this course we will reach altitude of 4,950 m. Our local guides will provide tents, food and transporting equipment with mules.

Day 13: Back to Cuzco

Day 14: Puno – Puno City 3,830 m located on the shore of lake Titicaca.

Day 15: Lake Titicaca. Amantani island. Pachamama and Pachatata

Titicaca lake is the highest navigable lake in the world, and the largest in South America. On this lake will spend the night to natives on the Amantani island.

Day 16: Return Puno

Day 17 – 20: Arequipa. Colca Canyon – City Arequipa is situated at the foot reasons it move (5,822 m), the area in which they could be visited countless inca sites. Colca Valey is the deepest canyon in the world (with an impressive depth of 3,400 meters) has been terasat by processed.

Day 21-22: Lima (Kings city) 

Lima city was founded in 1535 by Franciso Pizarro, becoming one of important cities of the Spanish Empire. At present the population of the capital city Peru include approximately 6 million inhabitants.

Tourist Objectives: Plaza San Martin, the Redoubt Real Felipe, the cathedral Lima, Almeda Chabuca Granda.

Day 23: return home.

Completion of the project: „Paradise of biodiversity”

Touristic association for nature and oxigen  and association for  initiatives and continuous development along with transnationals partners : „AEGEE” – Russian Federation, ADVIT „Europe without frontiers” – Republic of Moldova, Imagina de Juventud – Spain, announce the end of project activities „Paradise of Biodiversity”.

The project „Paradise of Biodiversity” pursued the realization of next objectives:

O1 – Increasing the awareness degree of 33 young people from the participating countries in project (Russia, Spain, Moldova, and Romania) in respect of actions impact on human environment and the measures to prevent its degradation;

O2 – awareness and responsability ? young people to protecting the human environment;

O3 –  increase the degree of involvement from 33 young people from the participating countries in the project (Russia, Spain, Moldova, and Romania) in future activities in order to conserve biodiversity;

O4 – promoting nonformal education.

We believe that we have managed successfully the objective and priorities proposed, the project involving the 33 active participants in acquiring biodiversity subjects and in community life through undertaken activities, as well as greening, photo-voice that surprised special features of delta, treasure-hunt that determined them to observe several aspects of life in village Dunavatul de Jos. Most activities implemented were outdoor activities, and that methodology we opted for various methods of nonformal education (juleps, photo voice, debate, treasure hunt, ProAction Café, the play).

Quantitative results:

• Number of persons involved in management team – 12 persons (6 men and 6 women);
• Number of persons involved in project – 33 persons (13 men and 22 women??) which 14 persons with reduced opportunities;
• Number by the communities in which they have been disemintate results of the project – 4 communities (Spain, Russia, the Republic of Moldavia and Romania);
• Number of press releases – 2 communicated (one at the beginning of project and one at the end of project);
• Number of skills acquired by the members of the management team at the end of project – all 8 skills at European Union level;
• Number of skills acquired by the participants at the end of project;
•  Number of materials for the project promotion  – 50 T-shirts with project logo and with the program and European Union badges, a movie with information about project.
• Number of trash bags collected during the greening.

Qualitative results:

The involvement of the management team. Within the framework of the management team were involved 10 young people who have been working on this project for a period of 6 months. In this period it was intended to develop the skills of management for all those who didn’t have experience in this field. I wish that the members of the management team to acquire skills for the coordination project Youth in Action because we want to realize other projects with and for young people.

Degree of involvement of the participants in the activities proposed. In the course of the 7 days, 33 young people have been actively involved in all the activities of project, by coordinating or just by participating in the activities of informal education.

Quality of activities implemented. Taking into account the feedbak-s received from the participants, we believe that in connection with the project Paradise of biodiversity have been carried out useful activities, training and information, as well as distrative

Oxygen mountain Program – mountain expeditions for beginners

Due to the fact that we love the nature, the movement and joy, we thought not to keep for us the happiness of a mountain itinerary next to a cheerful gang or the emotion of a song near a campfire. So….

We invite you to join us to make the first steps on mountain trails.

If you’ve already made them, even greater! Here you’ll have the chance to find a gang for your future mountain trips.

Oxygen on Mountain program  addresses mostly to young people. It is a preparation stage in mountain’s turism domain.

Rolling time is October 2013 – June 2014

Oxygen on Mountain program contains two types of activities:

The mountain expeditions take place monthly, in weekend (Saturday – Sunday).The movement will be made by train or by coach, and the accommodation will be made at huts. It will also be thematic expeditions in Bucegi, Ciucas, Baiului, Piatra Craiului, Cozia and Ceahlau massifs. The prices are collegiate.

The preparation for expedition is done weekly during free seminars in Bucharest. Here are presented and discussed certain themes that concern mountain such as: mountain equipment, the feeding of mountain tourist, dangers in mountains ( including the animal ones),  first pre-medical aid, orientation, survival in critical situations, climbing, meteorology, ecology, the tourist psychology , mountain geography. The participation to training is free.

Near the final of the program a cantonment is being organized, a one-week camp where all the gathered skills, obtained during the preparation period, can be applied.
